Spray processes are applied in a large number of manufacturing and energy related technologies such as fuel injection and spray drying for foodstuffs, powders and pharmaceuticals.
Spray formation is a complex multiphase process and characterized by the internal nozzle flow, spray break-up, atomisation and, finally- evaporation in case of droplets.
LaVision offers a complete family of spray imaging systems for global spray characterization and, complementary, Phase Doppler systems for local spray analysis. Customized spray imaging systems for pharmaceutical spray inspection and for in-line quality control applications of fuel injector sprays are offered to the industrial markets.
Measured spray parameters are global and local particle (droplet) size and velocity distributions, droplet temperature, mass flux and the visualization of phase transitions. Related phenomena such as cavitating nozzles, surface wave structures on liquid films and the interaction of liquid and gas flows are analyzed.
Spray patternation is carried out on arbitrary spray profiles providing geometrical spray data of single and multiple spray cones and plumes.
